Located in Muncie, IN, Hoku Poké specializes in poke bowls and other asian popularized foods. Poke itself refers to the Native Hawaiian dish of diced fish, often served alone as either an appetizer or a main course. Hōkū is a Hawaiian word meaning “star” or “night of the full moon”. Knowing the cultural ties to Hawaiian culture in particular, the design expresses these definitions to help define the concept. The illustration style uses colors gradients inspired by japanese ukiyo-e prints and colors inspired by dusk.
